SOUND & VIBRATION THERAPY
Sound and Vibrational Therapy with Himalayan Singing Bowls
Atma Buti School Founder & Instructor Suren Shrestha
Common physiological effects of sound & vibrational therapy include a reduced level of stress-related hormones (cortisol levels cut by about 50% over an extended period); an increase of oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin production; and the synchronization of left and right hemispheres of the brain for healthier brainwave patterns.
Singing bowl treatments are known to lower blood pressure and heart rate, as part of the relaxation response (parasympathetic nervous system). Studies have also shown how sound & vibration increases levels of nitric acid (NO), a vasodilator, which relaxes blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, and is associated with the promotion of healing.
Sound & Vibration Therapy Testimonials
I had my first Healing Prayer and Relaxation session with Jackie recently. I hadn’t experienced this modality and it was just what I didn’t know I needed. The space obviously has great energy, and the alignment of the healing bowls created a warm vortex of love. I could feel each bowl’s frequency resonating through and around each area where they were placed. I left feeling light, relaxed and kind of floated through the rest of my day. I look forward to seeing her new space on the Mother Road and would love to have deeper session work.
The first session was extremely peaceful. The negative self-talk seemed to vibrate out of me as I would breathe in the vibrations. With each exhale, I could feel a release & the negative self-talk would slip away- being filled with self-love and self-worth. In the second session I got images of pretzels for me. I took that as being twisted up and tied up with what we perceive ourselves. It was a reminder to let go and trust the process.
